save power

coming home in the dark I leave the lights out on the stairs, I don't need the light, I know how many steps there are down to our door, I don't want to light five storeys of stairs for my short way, I feel better if I can save that power, I feel stupid if somebody else is not ready to risk their health to save power, wtf
